The 11 new teams are in place and it is time for the start of The Amazing Race 2013 and the race around the world for the chance at winning $1 million. Host Phil Keoghan is back and so is the Double Express Pass twist brought on during Season 22. The winner of the first leg of The Amazing Race Season 23 not only gets en Express Pass for themselves but get a second one to hand out to any of the other teams! This season will feature 11 new teams ranging from baseball wives to former NFL teammates and is sure to bring on some major drama. There is that team we always love to hate that will make it further than any of us want them to. There will be that team we all hope does well, but then gets eliminated in like Week 3.

The 11 new teams are arriving at the old cowboy scene and let’s do this! Ally and Ashley are not looking for love on The Amazing Race Season 23, so why mention it? We have Duck Dynasty in Brandon and Adam. The baseball wives (Nicky and Kim) seem to annoy me.
The teams all get together and meet Phil Keoghan. They will travel to South America for the first leg of the race and the first winner gets an Express Pass for them and then another one to hand out by the end of the fifth leg of the race! They all run to the cars and make a phone call for instructions. They will head to airport and get their flights to Chile, but only a certain number of teams can fly out on the first flight!
The teams arrive at the airport and the first seven teams get on first flight: Leo & Jamal, Ally & Ashley, Chester & Ephraim, Tim & Marie, Rowan & Shane, Travis & Nicole and Hoskote & Naina. The other teams got the second flight!
The teams start arriving at Chile on Amazing Race 2013 and they get their first clue, which happens to be a Road Block. They will do some paragliding, but only one member. The other member will follow along in a car and find them on the beach where they land.
The teams are starting to take off and Kim is freaking out about doing this. Leo and Jamal might be my favorites right now because I like their personalities! However, they let their taxis go and are stranded. They order two taxis, but then Kelly and Marie snatch those up!
The teams are starting to meet up and Rowan & Shane are in first and get a clue to head to Muelle Prat to get the next clue. All the first flight teams are headed to Muelle Prat now as the second flight has arrived.
Nicole & Travis get to the next clue first and another Road Block. They must get a row boat and make their way through the waters and find three certain boats and collect five fish from them. The person who did the paragliding will do the rowing on this one.
The other teams start paragliding while the teams all start rowing. Travis has collected all five fish now and starts bringing them to the dock. They get the next clue, which is to head to Teatro Municipal de Iquique by foot and this will be the first Pit Stop for The Amazing Race 2013.
Travis & Nicole head to the Pit Stop, but in a taxi!!! They check in with Phil, but went by taxi and now must incur a 30 minute penalty!
Speaking of not reading the clue, Leo & Jamal did not read the clue and Leo did the paragliding, but Jamal is looking for fish! They must now switch and that will put them behind! Tim & Marie have now finished and they run to Phil and check-in before the 30-minute penalty is done and win the two Express Passes while Travis & Nicole wait it out!
Travis & Nicole penalty runs out and check-in as team number two and then Shane & Rowan are team number three! Chester & Ephraim are fourth and Nicky & Kim are fifth.
The other teams have finished up their paragliding and get the next clue and Hoskote & Naina are in last place. Ally & Ashley check-in sixth and Leo & Jamal seventh.
Brandon is struggling with the rowing and can’t find fish! Jason & Amy check-in eighth. Tim & Danny finish collecting their five fish. Naina is rowing, but it should be Hoskote, right? Yup, she rereads the clue and notices she read it wrong and they have to switch! The other teams check-in with Phil while it gets dark and they are finishing up collecting their fish!
They finish up and collect all their five fish, but they check-in with Phil as the final team and have been eliminated on The Amazing Race 2013 tonight!
